"Turtle jelly" is a mixture of different
types of herbs, turtles or tortoises, and other
ingredients thought to be beneficial for
good health if eaten.
Below are photos which will give you a "tour"
of sorts....
showing you what a traditional "turtle jelly"
shop is.
This shop is located in Hong Kong.
Some shops use as many as 200 turtles
PER DAY in the making of turtle jelly.
That's 73,000 turtles in a single year...for ONE shop!

The end result. Turtles, once living, breathing,
feeling, sentient
creatures, now reduced to bowls of turtle
jelly.
