Create your own fundraising ideas, and donate the proceeds.  This is a wonderful way to get children involved, (while keeping them busy during their summer vacations!) and teaches a dual life lesson.  Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, and helping a federally protected species to remain wild so that today's children may experience tortoises in the wild-with their own children is a win-win situation.  Yard sales, recycling, penny drives, and car washes are just a few ideas.
